Stem Cell Facelift

The stem cell facelift involves the extraction and utilization of stem cells from the patient's own body to rejuvenate and enhance the appearance of the face. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells capable of self-renewal and differentiation into various cell types. They possess unique regenerative properties, making them ideal for rejuvenating and repairing damaged tissues. In a stem cell facelift, adipose (fat) tissue is harvested from a donor site, typically the abdomen or thighs, and processed to isolate the stem cells. These stem cells, along with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), are then injected into specific areas of the face to stimulate collagen production, improve skin quality, and restore facial volume.

Stem cell facelift can be performed at an outpatient surgical facility or a local hospital. During your stem cell facelift, excess stem cells and fat cells are extracted from a donor location (generally the midsection or buttocks) using liposuction. Once prepared, these cells are injected into the desired areas of the face. The growth factors found in stem cells are thought to help improve skin structure and fullness for long-lasting results. The procedure may be combined with other facial surgery techniques for optimal results, including rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, and chin augmentation.

Mild bruising and swelling lasting 1-2 weeks should be expected after undergoing your stem cell lift. Patients can generally return to work within that timeframe. Specific recovery guidelines can be discussed with your facial plastic surgeon during your in-office consultation.
